Technical specifications

Please note the following is a guide only. Please contact us if you need to discuss technical requirements. Technical specifications are subject to change without notice.

Design formats (web advertisements)

Advertisers are free to design their own adverts for the website (subject to editorial and production approval). An advertisement would normally, however, be composed of one or more images, text and hyperlinks. If you are interested in advertising on this website, but do not have the necessary graphical materials or technical know-how, please note that we do offer a basic design service.

Technical specifications (web advertisements)

(1) Standard technical requirements

Images must be in GIF or JPEG format only. Animated GIF images are accepted. OceanLaw reserves the right to refuse any animated or other advertisement it deems inappropriate. Any animated image must be created in standard GIF 89a format only and should not exceed 256 colours. Please note that some animation creators (such as Microsoft GIF Animator) allow features that are not supported by Netscape browsers. For standardization, we do not accept any ads that incorporate Java, Shockwave, Flash, Future Splash, video, sound, or any other multimedia format other than GIF 89a animation. Images and advertisements must be submitted in accordance with the dimensions and file size specifications below.

Advertisements should preferably be provided in the form of an html document, comprising text and jpeg or gif images, although advertisements may also be accepted in the form of a text document (e.g. Microsoft Word) with images sent independently.

(2) Dimensions and maximum file size

The following table set out the dimensions of the advertising spaces provided on the IGIFL website. Subject to space, there is no limit on the number of images that can be included in the advertisement but maximum total image sizes apply. Please contact us if you require advice.
